With a price tag of under $60 and some top specs, Oukitel C3 stands as one of the most affordable Android Marshmallow smartphone you will find in the market. This smartphone aims at delivering great value for money.

Oukitel C3 is an entry-level Android smartphone that lacks 4G network, but it offer specifications that would have been considered premium specs some years back.

Oukitel C3 comes in the same bright orange box like other Oukitel phones. Inside the box you will find the standard accessories like power adapter (charger), a USB cable, user guide, warranty card and a screen protector. No headset is included in the package. This is quite common with Oukitel phones though.

The Oukitel C3 comes in a plastic shell that felt good in hand and gives the device a premium look. The back cover of the smartphone is designed to look like diamond pattern which makes the C3 stand out among other smartphones in its range.

The button placements and location of the camera and the loud speaker are the standard you will see in most Android phones. The volume and power keys are located at the right side of the device, the micro USB port and the headphone jack at the top side, while the loudspeaker is placed at the back and at the bottom right corner of the smartphone.

At the bottom edge is the microphone. The rear camera is mounted at the top with an LED flash light flanking it at the left.

On the front of the smartphone you will find the speaker grill, the proximity sensor, and the ambient light sensor at the top center of the device, while the front camera is located at the top left corner.

The C3 doesn’t feature any physical navigation keys but relies on capacitive buttons placed at the bottom of the screen.

The Display

Oukitel C3 comes with 5-inch IPS LCD HD display which offer 720p screen resolution. In pixels per inch, that will be approximately 294 ppi. For a phone of that price range, that is pretty decent. The display also gives you a decent viewing angle and sunlight legibility.

Camera

Oukitel C3 cameras aren’t the best you will find in the market, but they are still decent for taking photos and selfie.

The C3 comes with 5 MP (interpolated to 8 MP) back camera and 0.3 (interpolated to 2 MP) front camera. The camera also feature V-gesture which triggers the camera to snap when you give it a V like shape with your fingers.

Software

Unlike most Android smartphones you will find in this price range, the Oukitel C3 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and with Oukitel phones supporting OTA update, the smartphone may as well receive Android Nougat update.

The interface of the device is quite close to the stock Android Marshmallow as much as possible. The launcher in the Oukitel C3 offer app drawer and the icons looks more like the MIUI icons.

No bloatware were pre-installed in the Oukitel C3. You will be dealing with only the very basic set of apps when you first get the phone.

Oukitel also went a step further to drop most of the unnecessary Google apps like Hangouts, Photos, Play Movies and so on, which gives you more room to install your own apps.

Performance

The Oukitel C3 is packed with MediaTek MT6580A quad-core chipset. It clocks at the speed of 1.3 GHz and is coupled with Mali-400 MP GPU, just like other entry-level competitors like the Infinix Hot 5. The smartphone offer 1GB RAM but it is very responsive in all tasks. The smartphone handles multi-tasking with easy and offer smoot function.
